when a person or a group of people chooses cruelty & violence as their first & even only option to resolve an “evil” they have named & defined, it tells us a few things about that person or group. first, it tells us that they are living in fear, & perhaps, are deeply wounded. second, it tells us that they are lazy, not willing to engage in the long & patient work of love & peace. third, it tells us that they lack a deeper understanding of life as interdependent, love & relationship as the foundation, union – & reunion – we are seeking, & as the work needed. love is work. so, when we see an administration or a government who attempts to project strength & courage through promotion of violence, we know that they are actually afraid, & that they lack resilience, intention, & the fortitude to pursue genuine peace & a commitment to love. all the more reason why we as individuals, families, & communities must choose to embrace & embody a path of love & genuine peace for a world in need.
