may the work ahead be hope filled. may it be governed by empathetic open hearts, clarity, & wisdom. may this be an opportunity to align with loving our neighbor – ALL neighbors. to lift up the poor, food assistance for the hungry, healthcare access for the sick, taking profit out of prisons, rejecting an ethos of violence, welcoming the immigrant & all who are being cast out, marginalized, & targeted. may we continue to name & push back against forces of authoritarianism & fascism, holding to account, & establishing robust guardrails against corruption & abuse of power. this means systemic & structural change, not going back to how things were. the work may not be able to be fully accomplished on the next two years, but it must begin.

the cruelty, harm, & destruction that has been embraced so fully by this administration, current GOP leadership, & the most fervent of MAGA supporters, must continue to be rejected outright by those who choose to  align w/ love & do the work of love.

may it be so.
