i read the Bible. i was baptized &  went through two years of study & was confirmed in the faith in my younger days. 

i am a Buddhist now, & i still follow Jesus’ teachings, because he showed how to BE love in this world. the Buddha’s teachings give me a way & practice to do just that – be love.

so i’m still all about that Golden Rule. i stand w/ immigrants & refugees this day & every day, & every hour of every day.

may all of our hearts open as Jesus & as the Buddha to those around us wherever they are from, in need, all sacred, all more worthy than our temporary constructed borders. 

may we open the borders of our hearts.

events are unfolding so quickly – aggressively, with cruelty & indifference to suffering.  this can feel overwhelming & disheartening – which is the tactic of fascism.

but life has a way of regaining balance in the long arc of things, due to the goodness & love within the hearts of those who are grounded with moral integrity & love itself which is infused into every part of life & seeks such balance. that which burns most aggressively & fast, will also burn out sooner. nothing here lasts forever save for love. misaligned power & cruelty will find their end.

breathing. keeping focused. keeping our hearts open, our bravery quivering, with patience & endurance, contributing with others to the good, to that which is love & healing – compassion, kindness, & peace will prevail.

my heart breaks & is with the Palestinians. the world has failed them. Netanyahu’s thirst for vengeance, power, & greed, for annihilation of a people, found little resistance from Biden & has now found a home with Trump. history will record it as genocide & ethnic cleansing at the hands of a extremist far right Israeli  government, with the US complicit.what wars & terrorism will this birth? seeds planted for a violent future.
may the world in unity condemn this imperial, colonial ideology which is counter to life itself. may we continue to choose love & healing in the face of such evil, & may it manifest as fierce compassion to put a stop to harm.

the targeting & attacks on the sacred lives of our trans family, friends, colleagues, & neighbors is immoral. 

we are to love each other. this is the calling, without exception. we don’t have to understand someone else’s experience to have empathy & compassion. we can trust them to know their own experience of life. who are any of us to be gatekeepers on the fullness of life & happiness for another?

what can be said of those who would be so obsessed with & targeting a community who makes up less than 2% of the population? 

the cruelty of oppressing & targeting a group already marginalized runs in opposition to life & love. it will see its end in time & the beautiful diversity of life, expressed in a myriad of ways will continue to flow forth reflecting the great Love that Is.

until then may we speak up & stand up for our trans sisters & brothers, speaking truth, protecting, & healing.

there IS light & it will guide us through this time.
