the President’s latest action, in a long line of racist actions, is not surprising. what remains surprising, but probably shouldn’t be, is the effort by so many to dismiss or minimize it. 

we must be clear: 

racism is in opposition to life. it denies our interdependence & life’s greatest beauty & benefit, which is its diversity. racism is profane. it denies & disrespects the sacredness of others. there should be no excusing or minimizing that which opposes life itself & denies the sacredness of another. rather, we should align w/ love, which recognizes the sacredness of others & celebrates the beauty of diversity which makes all life possible.
